Transformation of Human Split Thickness Skin Auto-Graft

Summary

This work is carried outto study the transformation of human split thickness skin auto–graft of various age group.

Split skin graft between 3 wesks to 3 years have been studied clinically from the point of view of its colour, texture, sensations and sweating. Simultaneously the pieces of respective grafts were taken to examine the histological changes in epidermis and dermis. Both clinical and histologcal features of respective grafts are noted to study the transformation of the Graft.

Three years old split skin autograft almost simulates normal skin in the matter of colour in fair complexioned individuals, textures, and sensations. It does not grow hair and there is no sweating.
